Is it normal to deny, hide, and suppress my feelings?

Is it normal to deny, hide, and suppress my feelings, to worry about someone elses? I tend to put on a smile and act like everything's ok, when, in all actuality, my feelings are weighing heavily on my mind. I can't seem to cry when I am overburdened with emotions, either, even if I am alone.

I did this for 8 years. I want to give you a hug. Please stop. It will drive you crazy and into depression. If you're open to advice...may I suggest you open up to one person and tell them the truth? Maybe your parents if you have a decent relationship with them. Chances are they won't think you're as broken or weak as you think you are so its really okay to tell them. Then you'll finally feel free and stop wasting energy on holding things in that don't help you.
