Is it normal to debate your own sanity with yourself?

Every now and then I wonder if I'm insane but then I tell myself that I'm just a hypochondriac and then the next thing I know, I spend the rest of the day listening to a debate in my head on whether or not I'm crazy and while both sides do have some rather good points, it gets really tiresome and annoying.

you only have one inner monologue.

so there are aren't two sides debating, it's just the one that's doubling up as you pretend to talk to yourself.

Sounds like anxiety, possibly OCD. You're not going crazy, don't worry :)

If you're debating then you're not crazy. Truly crazy people don't think there is anything wrong with themselves. You wouldn't be questioning. Unless you're seeing things you shouldn't be seeing, hearing things that you shouldn't and you're 'positive' that it's real. And/or have been confirmed to have depression, or some other illness of the mind then you're fine. You've got an over active imagination and are making things up with your thoughts.

Perhaps, You cannot see what I see. That doesn't make me mental.

No, I'm pretty sure 'seeing things' is a pretty solid symptom. You should see someone for that.

Yeah well you'd need to see a psychiatrist in order to get advice from one. Hence my advice on seeing one. Also you ought to make up your mind on if you're 'talking to spirits for advice' or 'having psychic premonitions'. Its two different things there, mate are you connected to the dead or the future?

A regular all seeing eye, eh? Funny thing is if that wasn't mental enough on its own you'd be driven mental by seeing such things, so you'd be mental either way. Frankly I think you've been watching too much reality TV nonsense. Also, I'm always a Royalburden, love. ;)

I talk to the spirits, in hope they will guide me. But they seldom answer back. For if you are insane. you would not be aware of such. So you must not be.

I think you're more mental than the guy asking if he's mental...
