You aren't related by blood (no genetic problems beyond ordinary risk) and weren't raised together (according to what you say) so being cousins is a paper technicality. The biggest problem you face are the relatives going, "What will the neighbors think?!!" I hope that most will eventually come to realize that you're adopted and the usual rules don't apply.

The girl next door has always been an attractive option. She isn't related but shares the same community values. Many good matches are made on that basis.

NOT normal. No offense. If I had a friend who did this, it would really creep me out. A familial relationship is still a familial relationship... unless you guys had like, ZERO contact growing up. But even then it would creep me out if you were my friend. Not enough to end my friendship, but enough to distance myself from the whole situation.

I had the same thing happen to me but hes my second cousin and we just dated. We werent thinking about getting serious because of family. But as time went by he cheated on me a few times, he lied to me a lot, and hed always find something to fight about. Now that i look back i notice that i dont really like him in that way. I guess i was just blind then but now i see who he really is.
