When I was 16 I was in a sexually abusive relationship with a guy 3 years older than me. We broke up a little after my 17th birthday. I found a guy online who was 11 years older than me n we hit it off. It was nothing at first but then we started talking everyday. We became a couple n helped eachother overcome personal problems (we both had trust issues, he smoked a lot n a previous serious girlfriend aborted 2 of his babies, n I used to cut myself n drink hard liquor). We had a wonderful amazing connection. Over the summer last year he came over to my house at midnight n we had sex. Short story, we got caught by my parents n he was arrested n sued for sleeping with a minor. Even though the court set a restraining order he still called me n we stayed together. I just want to know if this is normal? Do ppl who go through this still stay together??? Our relationship right now is real strong, we trust eachother completely n were real happy together, we even have plans to get married n start a family.

    It's normal because you both have a mature relationship. But because you're still a "minor", society believes it is not normal. But trust me, once you hit ur 20s, people will find it to me more reasonable

    Good luck, I've been in 9 and 10 year difference relationships and they worked fine. No reason not to. The age gap between my parents is 15 years, so i consider it absolutely normal.

    I met my boyfriend online. In this day and age that kind of thing should be a normal thing although some people disagree. 11 years isn't a big deal also

    BUT

    You were 17, and i know its not bad but it is against the law to have sex with a minor. You should've waited a little bit. till 18 where it wouldve been legal.

    Now the guy will probably be put on the sex offenders register and you will never see him again
