Is it normal to cut down the sides, as well as across the top?
Also, some people cut the tops really really short. Know what I mean? I look and think how could you possibly cut it that short? with minus overhang. I suppose we all a place in the toenail rainbow...
but I have to do it to stop the ingrown toenails, and it does work (contrary to everything Ive heard). Am I the only one?
Here Is what i like to do. Take the inside part of the nail clipper that swivels out and stick it under the corner of the nail. Get some leverage and dig the ingrown part out and up so its sticking out horizontally now plainly visible. Then clip that sucker off.
It feels great to do this. When you get to be a pro like me you can dig the whole thing out with just the clipper in one motion and you wont even need the swivel thing at all
Wow that is really strange I wish you could find a solution to stop this
No it is not normal! That leads to ingrown toenails. It's best to let them grow out and then cut it straight across and not too short where it will cause an ingrown toenail... I've learned the hard way because I kept cutting them too short and ended up with constant ingrown nails. Doing what you are doing is NOT normal!
How far down the sides are we talking about here? I cut mine at an angle, but I'm not sure how far back you're going.
Does it hurt? I have angled my nail clipper before but, I don't think I have ever gotten my sides.
