Is it normal to cut stuff and ruin new things?

i bought a skin for my psp and sice it was not the rightone i cut the skin and now i ruined it, i always ruin new stuff with blades and sicors or put stickes and marker to deco but then i realise its dumb and end up trowing the thing away :(

    It's okay to want to experiment with everyday things and try to make it amazing, but next time you should think about it, if it's really new, you should wait until it's a little bit not so new, so you can change it.
