Super normal as far as feeling cathartic when you practice your art form. It is supposed to be as emotional as that, it's expressionism. Just as long as it's not the paint fumes that are getting to you. ;) but yes tears of sorrow and of joy are as normal as meaning in art.
For an artist, i think its normal. If you cry while drawing, then that means your truly into your artwork and you have passion for what you are creating. trust me, your fine :)
Whenever I paint the cops come. Stupid hooker blood not being "socially acceptable" and all.
Art is a very emotional activity.
The fumes from the paints could be irritating your eyes.
I think that's a good thing. Let your emotions flow while you make art. As an artist, that is normal, but for anyone else, it might be "what's wrong with them ¬_¬?" Don't mind them. I like to put on music that matches the mood of what I'm drawing or writing and go to that. I like listening to songs from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iAVT5PvSZ8 to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NB5jyYD2WEw to kind of... release different emotions whether or not I'm doing something.
if by "paint" you mean "get rammed in the anus by a large puerto rican man", then probably yeah. why do you ask?
