Is it normal to cry myself to sleep?

Sometimes I cry myself to sleep. I think about how alone I feel and how tired I am of being alone. I just cry when I think about it. I mean, there's this boy that I like, but I just moved into town an I don't know if he likes me back. I just think of stuff we could do together and how happy I would be.

I just want to know, is it normal to do this?

  • It's normal(ish). But to dream instead of act is folly. At some point you're going to have to put aside your sadness and go after this guy.

Any external change begins first with an internal one. If you're ever going to be happy you first have to determine to be that inwardly.

I came in expecting an obvious yes answer, but then I got thrown into a world of unexpected feels.

    I expected:
Is it normal to cry yourself to sleep?

    But got:
Is it normal to be so alone and so obsessed with someone that you cry yourself to sleep just thinking of all the things you could do together?

Yeah, in my honest opinion you're over-hyping what could be, and that's not only psyching you out, but also possibly setting you up for disappointment.

It's normal to cry when you're upset, but if this is happening regularly then it's not.
I'd also say don't put everything on this boy. Find things to do by yourself. Make friends and hang out with them. If the only thing you do it establish something with him, when he's gone, you'll crash and burn. Get out there and get into things, and when you're settled and happy, then it's time to share your life with someone else.
