Is it normal to cry in a locked room?

I can only cry when I am alone behind a locked door. I can hold it back for so long, but then if I have to cry I will go into a bathroom, or somewhere similar, lock the door, and sob my heart out. Does any one else do this?

Its a girl thing. Its like crying in the shower. You show your strong side and then away from everyone , you show yourself the emotional side. We all cry sometimes :)

I don't like it when people see me cry cuz most of the time they fail at comforting me. the only person who can comfort me is my best friend but when she sees me cry, it makes her cry, which makes me cry more. better alone in my opinion.

I have to be in complete solitude to cry. Don't know why, but that's a side to me that I make damned sure most people don't see.

Yeah I don't usually like people seeing me cry so I do it alone, with a locked door or not. Maybe its because I grew up with the idea that crying is for the weak

Yes, I do it also. It mainly started when my husband used to get upset with me when I cried. He said crying is useless and doesn't do any good. So.... I cry by myself. It does make a difference to how you feel afterwards. Usually better.
