I have herpes. And when I have someone in the bedroom who’d like to have sex with me, I morally have to tell them what’s up.
Rather than me having to explain it every single time, I have created a consent form. It explains exactly what it is, how it works, and how it could affect them.
And essentially I’d like them to sign it to acknowledge they understand what the risks are etc...
some guys I’ve told about it (the herpes) have been fine with it, and some haven’t.
I’m worried maybe I didn’t properly explain things to them, or that if something happens, they’ll come back to me and say I never told them.
I want to know if it’s too weird to ask them to sign something...?

    A consent form is definitely a mood-killer and probably over-cautious (particularly when it's to do with Herpes), but in today's climate it's not an unreasonable thing for you to consider.

    Something like one in six Americans between 14 and 49 have HSV-2, so it's not like you're infected with some incredibly rare and deadly disease. The odds are that at least some of the guys who have been fine with you having the virus know they already have it too.

    I'd suggest that rather than having something as formal as a consent form, you just make sure you have an honest and open discussion with your potential sexual partners before things get to the stage where rationality has flown out the window. That's an awkward discussion to have, but seems to me a little unfair to not say anything until you're in the bedroom, naked and about to do the deed.

    Everyone has oral herpes so dont worry about that one. Mostly every other one can be treated with modern medicine. Unless you have aids or HIV then stay the hell away from me.

      One of my friends has it. She always tells people. They still fuck her. Most people have or have had stds.

        Well I never have had std's and there is only one person in my life that I know personally that has! Ohh no stds is not the norm and people should not be thinking that way.
