Is it normal to crave sugar during a migraine?

I get migraines pretty frequently, usually once a week at least. Every time I have one, I always eat lots of sweet and sugary things at meals. Like if I'm at dinner, most of it will consist of just dessert. Why do I always crave sugar when I have a migraine?

Well not coffee per say, but caffeine has a big effect on migraines. Hence why medication targeted for migraines contains caffeine, such as Excedrin Migraine.

You might be getting them from a drop in blood sugar...I get migraines when I need some sugar, like I do when I need caffeine. It might be way of your body telling you that you need sugar to stop the migraine.

For a temporary fix for headache try poking and hold it above your eye like top of your eyelid where your eye socket is below your eyebrow (you can feel your eye socket bone) until it kinda hurts. Do this with both eyes and the pain from it releases pain killing chemicals which can ease your migraine. You can search google if I didn't explain it well enough.

I know thats was off topic but since you have migraines maybe this could help ease the pain.
