Is it normal to cook beef tongue?

I thought I would pickle a beef tongue to make tacos. I have never done it before and am not really into weird foods generally. Everyone I know seems to find it strange and thinks I am acting out. Is it normal to keep a beef tongue in the fridge?

In Latin America, the consumption of beef tongue is quite normal.

It's good. I've had it in a crock pot.

Freeze it until you're ready to prepare it. Meat goes bad very quickly. I don't think it's weird, even though i would never eat it. What's weird is Chitlins, fried pork skin, and brain meat. I've even seen it used on the cooking show "Chopped". Look up on how to best prepare it and what flavors work best with it. :)

Even in the US tongue is a pretty common food. I wouldn't just keep it in the fridge though, it's also good to eat.
