Is it normal to constantly recheck your own text messages?

So, whenever I'm texting or simply chatting online with my freinds, I would check, recheck, and re-recheck whatbi just typed to make ABSOLUTELY sure that my meanings are not misinterpreted and that my tone within the simple message itself sounds friendly and not angry, sad etc.

Even though I know very little misinterpretation of message and tone can come off a simple message, I have this nagging urge to do this everytime before I press 'send'.

So is it normal or am I just paranoid?

    ...and yes it is normal, albeit a bit obsessive.

    OMG, I do it too..thought I was alone on this one ;) I also recheck my messages AFTER I've sent them in the sent messages folder!

    Yes this is normal. I am always paranoid someone will get mad at me over a stupid text message. I'm also addicted to checking to see if the messages was recieved to the other person when I'm texting

    I think you're normal, I check my own messages too to make sure that they are the right tone and can't be misinterpreted :). If anything it shows you care about the people you are talking too since you don't want to upset them accidently or something.
