Is it normal to consider cooking waste of time?

I can cook, but I have no patience to do it, to serve it on plates and so on. Food just doesn't live that long, I start to eat the moment I see something eatable. That's enough. But the most horrible thing is to wait while somebody is cooking. And doesn't let me just eat and get out from kitchen. I can't wait, almost die and he says something - oh, wait a mo, it's really quickly and start to slice vegetables sooooo slowly, that it's impossible to watch it. And when everything is ready he can suddenly take my plate away from me and say - oh, I forgot spice!! That' cute, but unbearable. When you are hungry, how can you bear it while cooking?

I know what you mean, but your entire life and outlook is governed by the nutrients you put into your body. Some cultures think that food and cooking is the most important thing in the world and everything else is an adjunct of it. I find myself agreeing with that.

There's no reason why cooking has to be onerous, by the way:

Much of it is about preparation and planning.
