Is it normal to completely despise trends?
So, recently I've noticed that a lot of the things that I like are "trendy," so to speak. For example, tea (this one mainly applies in the US.) Tea, I've been drinking it since I was a kid, I grew up with it, before it was trendy to inform facebook or tweet that a nice cup of green tea is the thing that calms you down. It doesn't bother me so much that people drink tea, that's fine with me-- more people should know how delicious it is-- but my point is, is that tea seems to be becoming a trend. It used to seem like tea was just something that people used to drink, but now I feel like it's society's trendy drink. I don't know, it just seems like everyone drinks tea now, and it's slightly annoying. And the same thing with weed or those feathers that people wear in their hair. Everybody smokes weed now because all of the "cool kids" are doing, which is a dumb reason to do anything. Again, it's just another trend. And the feathers, those are worn by so many girls, young and old, and even some guys. I'm not saying that these things shouldn't go unnoticed, but once something turns into a "trend" I feel like it almost loses meaning and I feel like, "what's the point of liking something is EVERYBODY likes it." I don't know, maybe I'm overreacting or maybe it's just me. So, I guess my question is, is it normal to completely despise trends?

You can't hate trends when you're the one to set them. | 8 |
