Is it normal to choose video games over sex?

I am in a committed relationship, I live with him, and we haven't had sex in over a year.

Whenever I ask if he wants to or if I try to act all sexy/flirty to him, he just tells me he doesn't feel like it, tired, headache, etc. I've heard it all. Sometimes he even gets annoyed.

But then he just goes and plays games with his friends despite saying he feels bad. Sometimes he doesn't come to bed until 4 in the morning.

He says I need to ask in advance to spend time with him. I do, but he does this anyway, so I feel pretty unwanted at this point and it's like nothing helps...

Is this normal? Should I just get over it?

Dump him. He's not interested in you. Find someone who is. Get to work!

    • I don't think I'll find anybody else, honestly...but I agree with you. I want to be loved, not be essentially a roommate he shares a bed with.

It's better to be single and happy than committed and miserable, plain and simple.

As someone who can stand in front of a TV playing games for hours, I've gotta say this isn't normal. Video games are fine, but once they get in the way of things like eating, sleeping, working, or in this case a love life, it's a problem.

  • Get over HIM! He's a loser! Find someone that can/will take care of your needs!

Leave him. Be with me, I am desperate. Atrociously desperate.

seriously though, you need to tell him how this makes you feel.
AND then come be with me.

    • I did but he just says I'm making a big deal out of nothing. :/

And you don't want an emotional dumpster fire, trust me. Desperate or not, you deserve better.
