Is it normal to chew on wood

Whenever I go to the movies instead of buying popcorn I bring wood. My favorite is wood chips, but my favorite type is oak or birch. And it saves money too. My doctor said that about .5% of the American population has a disease called beaveritous. Apparently it's where insteadof regular food, these victims chew on wood. Anyone else have this deal???

In holland there's a 'candy' called 'zoethout' it comes from a tree and is pretty much wood .. You should try it, I like it!

Now I think about it, paper is made from wood and there are alot of people out there that enjoy eating paper ..

    I think it's called "Pica"

this is fake. obviously they attempted to spell Beaveritis which the suffix "itis" mean inflammation or swelling and reddening. so basically his beaver is getting puffy and red. get that checked out man.

Normal? No. But not unheard of. This is variation of a condition called pica, where a person eats materials that are not normally considered edible. It's far more common than most people would think. The primary things to be concerned about with this are poor nutrition (from eating inedibles instead of nutritive food) and harm to the digestive system, plus of course the risk of eating something toxic. I know well the digestive harm from personal experience; when I was little, I used to eat wood and plastic. Now, as an adult, I have IBS. I do not believe these are unrelated. So be careful of your odd eating habits.
