Is it normal to carry around a monkey

I have this sister who is 14 and carries around a stuffed monkey while sucking her thumb. It gets even weirder because she named it and treates it like a person. We have tried everything to get her to stop but she still carries it around EVERYWHERE SHE GOES. I'm just wondering is this normal and is there anything I can do to get her to stop.

    Not really... I think you should find out WHY she still carries this toy around. It could be a form of security blanket for her or it might be something deeper.

    buy her a real monkey then train it to throw poo at her so she will hate monkeys or you could just take it and tell her to grow the heck up so many options .... i would buy the monkey

    Just wait for her to grow out of it. If she doesn't eventually, she might have to go to therapy.
