Is it normal to care about siblings even if you're not close with them

I have brothers. When we were kids we fought a lot and they teased me and beat me up all the time and I hated them for it. We're adults now, and we're not close. We just tolerate each other. Even though I'm not close with them, if something bad happened to them I would still be upset. I've known them my whole life and I guess I still care about them. Is that normal?

I don't like my sister but I love her. I think what your describing is normal for people who don't get along with their siblings. My sister has a really bad personality but she's full of herself because she used to be a model. She was also a Hooters girl and a topless dancer. Hahaha!!!

My younger sister is mean, bossy, demanding and has untreated Obsessive Compulsive disorder. She can get semi-violent with my parents and I. She says the meanest things to our father, has pushed and spat on our mother; both our parents are in their mid 70's. My sister has also hit me and started a physical altercation with me just three days after my last birthday.

Despite all of her aggression with us when she had a warrant out for her arrest for something she did to her fiancée's truck and had to do a walk through at the Clark County detention center she was terrified and traumatized just from being there. So she acts like a bully with family and like a frightened mouse when she's around real badasses.

At the root of all of this my mother enables her. Yet, in some sad place in my heart I still love her.
    :-'(
