Is it normal to bury yourself in work or school?

My parents have been divorced for about 11 years and my father recently lost the home that we had lived in my entire life. My mother lives with her boyfriend and we rarely speak.

Ever since my father lost the house, I feel like all I want to do is study. Just study, eat and sleep. Possibly work out but even that doesn't sound appealing. I don't even feel like eating but I'll eat small things when I do get hungry.

I just feel like I don't want to talk to anyone really. I just want to be left alone. Also, I feel that this is adolescent behavior and inappropriate for someone in their early twenties.

Is this normal?

sounds like you are depressed. i did the same thing, but you have to find a hobby to help you escape from the madness and the studying. Slowly but surely you will feel the weight is on your shoulders if you don't. But this is normal, and i promise life will get better if you hold on to hope.

  • It's a common response but snap out of it. Burying your problems doesn't make them go away. They'll grow and attack you in full armor one day.
