Is it normal to burn money?

Often when I'm feeling bitter, manipulated or boring I will take a few hundred dollars out of the bank soak them with fuel and light them on fire and watch them burn. It fills me with a sense of peace and euphoria. Before and during the time the money burns I'm full of angst and uncertainty but when I'm done there is never any turning back so I just walk away feeling at ease.

That's a Federal crime, you're destroying government property. But that's besides the point.
Now I have a better idea. Instead of burning it, send it to me and I promise it'll get burnt.

Okay, are you only burning money? this might be a starting point for an arsen epidemic for you sir. There is a certain illness that makes you have uncontrolable urges to burn objects...... sometimes even animals.....PYROMANIAC that's it, I hope you don't turn into a pyromaniac, because Arsen is a serious crime(that and burning government owned currency). strangely enough though, the government usually burns any old bills they can get there hands on to keep the economy in check......they've been doing less of that lately.....but still, they basically do it just like you, but yours can turn into an addiction, but you are slightly, remember SLIGHTLY helping the economy.....also a fun fact, there's a certain way you can fold a twenty dollar bill and it looks like the twin towers and pentagon is burning....and it's been like that on the twenty for quite awhile and there is no sight of the government changing it.

Noble? There is nothing fucking noble about it! The noble thing to do would be to donate it to charity or someone who deserves it and would do good with it rather than just burning it like a selfish and frankly pathetic fuck! I hope one day you have no money left and not a pot to piss in, then you're gonna feel real stupid, big man!

honestly, its your life. If you are rich enough to burn your money go ahead. If you are going to go homeless cause your burning all your money go ahead. Personally idc. But if I were you, wouldn't it be nice to just give it to charity or help your neighbourhood store owner out by buying their stuff. The money you burn can be used to buy things and spread the wealth around. By burning the money you are actually hurting the economy so maybe instead of burning it spend it.

I do agree though, that you should donate it.

Hmm, I love burning money, but never completely. Instead, I just burn the eyes, and sometimes the mouth, out of any bill and deeply enjoy paying with them later.

What I don't understand is why you'd only take out a couple $100 bills when you could EASILY withdraw more $1 bills and get a more glorious blaze.

You didn't exactly specify, so i'm assuming.

Yes, it's very normal to feel that way. Alas, it'll cause you to lose the amount you burned. You could take all the money you have your account and watch it burn, but you'll be poor as a result. The government makes us dependent on it, like a drug. They know that they've got us stuck under their thumbs.

    Spend that money on fireworks.
They burn too, but at least look pretty in doing so.

It's a very noble thing to do. By taking currency out of the system you marginally inflate the value of everyone else's currency. The only person who loses is you, and what you lose is shared (on a percentage basis) amongst everyone else.

Admittedly, the hyper-rich benefit more in real terms than the very poor, but there's nothing much you can do to stop that.

  • In a way, I guess this is doing the country a favor. We print more money than we're even supposed to.

you have no idea how jealous i am right now

not that you're rich (who would know, maybe that was all the cash you had), but because you could bring yourself to burn money you worked for. dannnng.
