Is it normal to break up because of my bfs parents?

I love my boyfriend and our views line up very well but his parents are unbearable!!! Recently we have been talking about moving in together. We've been looking at apartments near my parents house and his overbearing mother insists on going on walk throughs with us. The worst part about it is that she keeps on insulting the neighborhood (which is the one I grew up in). Her views are out of touch, racist and snobby. And his father has similar views. I try to bring this up with my boyfriend but he defends her because she grew up a different way. He says she doesn't understand my background. I love him but I'm not sure I can get over this. is it normal to want to break up with my boyfriend because of his parents?

well... its never going to change if you are with him it will always be this way. You can ether decide to put up with it, say something to his mom when she says stuff, confront him on the problem, or leave him.
He cant keep making excuses for her poor behavior...how she grew up is no excuse for rudeness.

i got lucky with the fact i hate my bfs mom and i was lucky enough that my bf also hates his mom...so we just kicked her out of our lives.

Lol my I had this conversation with my boyfriend and he stated that he'll work this out, he loves me too much to lose me and reassured that an hour of visit on holidays won't kill me

This is your future. His parents are a part of his family. You'll be seeing them on holidays, vacations, gatherings, dinners and so forth. If you don't wish to be a part of this family speak now.
