Is it normal to binge eat once a week

I'm a 35 yo guy that is in pretty good shape. I jog 5 miles three days a week and hit the guy at least once. However, usually once a week I have a couple beers and then eat anything that doesn't move. Chips, oreos, ice cream, etc. Then I feel guilty for the next few days trying to work it all off again. What's my prob???

    This sounds fine-you are just rewarding yourself for being so careful for 6 days out of 7. I don't think this is a problem. We all need a bit of indulgance now and then and it doesn't sound like you are going over the top!

    true, now that it has become habit it will be hard to break if you are on a strict diet that you basically adhere to then small indulgances are good and upping your calorie intake every once in a while is ok however try to change it or binge eating will become boredom, comfort, any reason activity. try eating slower or with more time between foods, also try drinking loads of liquid with your binges. if they are occuring late at night it could be triggered by hormones in which case youre better off just to go to sleep

    that isn't normal, but it has become routine and it's a behavior you've developed in which you expect this to happen every week. it'll be difficult to change that behavior. from personal experience, I don't binge on junk food anymore because I've simply stopped buying it. if it's not in the house, I can't eat it. having a wife and kids makes it difficult to choose what to not have in the house, I wish you luck. be aware of what kind of example you want to set for your kids as well.

    I don't think I'm fat, I'm 5'11" and weigh 188 right now. But, man besides my wife and 3 kids, I love food!!! I'd hate to see what would happen if I stopped doing any excercise at all. I would be 300lbs in a couple months.
