Is it normal to believe that this is more important?

I believe that human survival is more important than the "right" to have as many kids as you want (it's not a "Right" at all. It's nothing more than Entitlement. Being allowed a biological child is a PRIVELDGE not to be taken lightly. You know, considering the quality of one's fertility as well as the state of the economy and how much you earn as a individual). Considering how the world's overpopulated and everyone needs a good bit of resources, having as many kids as one can feasibly pop out should be our last concern. With over 7 Billion people and rapidly rising (it won't level off at 10 billion like they once predicted) and the decline of resources, our survival should trump that biological urge.

We need to make it to where couples can only have a kid each and single people have to adopt instead. I'm not saying that we'd have to do this forever just until we get to 1 Billion or less humans. Than couples can have 2 kids each and single people can be permited to have a single child each.

The one child policy in China has been a disaster. China is by no means a bad example. Even in western society men still make more money than women. As such, the argument, as to who will have the most resources to look after you in your old age, still suggests that male children are the predominant result of a one child policy. Much to the misfortune (loneliness) of the favored child.

Long term prosperity, seems to be the best governor of the population.

I thought we need to reproduce for survival of our species...Anyway, contrary to popular belief we have enough resources to sustain our kind in great numbers. Its just that resources are unevenly distributed or being squandered.
