As a society, we are letting go of typical gender roles. Why would this study assume these boys fathers are training them to be "real men".
"Billy didn't pick the truck to play with so he must be gay"
Is this study from the 1950's?

    • What fathers, these days? Aren't most fathers AND mothers off working, leaving the children to fend for themselves or relying on the school system to raise their kids for them?
Society is breaking down all around us, so what roles one plays are whatever one can get away with.

My parents both worked while I was growing up and they were still able to show love and support. I do agree parents now rely on the schools for too much of the child "raising" and at the same time get bent out of shape when the schools act.
I think that says more about the parents being self-centered and/or lazy
I try to be more optimistic and think that society is "changing" rather then "breaking down"

For a long time, I have found it plausible that conditions in the womb determine whether you're gay, bi or straight, so (even though I've only rad the first couple of paragraphs in the article) that also seems plausible.

Sounds like complete bullshit to me, but I'd have to take a look at the full research paper to be able to clarify my thoughts any more than that. Being naughty with methodology can throw up results that look scientific but don't in any way reflect reality.

Gay guys don't have a less "boy-like" or less "manly" behaviour than straight ones, in fact, rather the opposite.

    • Well, I guess that is a matter of which side of the fence one is viewing them from.

I suppose it's possible but I love my gay brothers regardless. We're all children of God, bad plastic exposure or not.
