Is it normal to begin losing life goals after reaching a certain age?

I used to have a lot of life goals, the most important of them included things like solving poverty, conflict and hunger in the world. So I tried many things to find a way to make them come true, like religions, ideologies, philosophy and searching for a social position/job that matched those life goals.
But as time passed I started noticing that, despite all things that people tried to solve theses problems, nothing ever worked and social progress was an ilusion. So I started losing my faith and hope, and now all that is left is a person whose only purpose in this world is existing.
Has anyone had a similar experience happen in your life, or do I have symptoms of depression?

It's sadly normal to become desensitized towards these issues when the world stresses self-growth over the greater good. I pray that your situation in your faith improves, and that you gain an inspiration towards these things once again.

What a mess. You need better goals. Much better goals. Start by asking questions, what gives certain ideas traction? How is intelligence improved? Can hypotheses be tested? I mean fuck, getting from point A to point B isn't even on your radar. Maybe your parents basement is the best place for you.
