Is it normal to be worried we aren't doing enough about gays?

Americans have just won a great victory as North Carolina added a constitutional amendment to ban homo marriage. But we can't rest because many people ignore that banning homo marriage isn't enough. For it is written

"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." Leviticus 20:13

The Bible's truth is clear! God's message to his followers is known! Homos cannot just be banned from marriage, they must be killed. Everyone who truly follows the Word of God has felt God telling them to kill homos. If we do not want God to destroy this country for being a den of filth, we must follow God's instructions reverse the decline of morality.

    Great, another religious jackass.
I don't believe in god, but wasn't he supposed to love all of his creations? If not, then he's a hypocrite. Also they're allot of questionable and nonsensical things in the bible.

God created everyone or so they say. So it seems reasonable to me, that he also created the LGBT community.

The Bible does condemn homosexuality so it makes sense to believe that it is something that didn't come from God. Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of irregular sexual practices ie man and wife.
There's a lot of important/interesting stuff in the Bible if you know how to understand it. Think how nice a place the world would be if everybody followed the ten commandments to the letter. No killing, cheating, stealing, lying, kids respecting their parents etc. I'm no religious freak, but even I can see the sense in it!

This person has probably just read the book The Agenda by Louis P. Sheldon. It is written in the Bible as he/she has quoted, though killing them is rather extreme.

Although this post seem to stupid to be genuine I will respond anyway.

There is absolutely no reason why LGBT people shouldn't be allowed to get married and be afforded the same rights as everybody else. People have no control over who they are sexually attracted to. Stoping two people who are in love from having the same rights because of the way they were born is disgusting. If you want to know where the real filth lies you should take a look at all the voters that made this shitty law possible.

As for your bible, not everyone is a Christian and lots of those that are don't agree with you. Not everyone has to follow the bat shit crazy ramblings of the so called 'good book'.

I challenge you to produce just one extra biblical (that means without appealing to the bible) reason why gay marriage should be illegal.

Because God created Adam and Eve to populate the earth and not Adam and Julian. God's plan for the world is the family and gays can't have kids.

I'm not trying to pick a fight with you by the way!

You are of course entitled to believe what you want.

If you believe that gay marriage is not in gods plan then I will not try to stop you. But if you try to impose your morals on me or anyone else based on that, then I will raise hell about it (so to speak).

Your right to swing your arm ends at someone else's face. For example if you came to me and said
"you can't buy licker on Sundays because we are religious"
then I would have to say
"NO! You can't buy licker on Sundays because you are religious. I can buy all the licker I want on Sunday because I'm not religious, and you will not pass a law that says that I can't."
If you don't like that then tough, your religion is YOUR religion. Others have the right not to follow it.

Living by your own believes is absolutely your right. I have no problem with a gay Christian choosing not to marry because he thinks it's not in gods plan. But deciding that other people should live by your beliefs is fucking horse shit and will not be tolerated.

I'm sorry for going of on this but it is a topic I feel strongly about. You are welcome to try again and present me with an argument against gay marriage that doesn't involve religion. To my knowledge there isn't one.

How could I IMPOSE my morals on someone else? I wouldn't even try if I could. You are a free thinking indivdual. Don't take me the wrong way, but it's obvious that you are not a religious person - I wasn't either until something happened to me when I was 30 that proved the existence of God. I was more of a skeptic than you are, no one convinced me or brainwashed me - just an act of God that you could not explain away by saying it was just coincidence or something else - God used me to save the lives of nearly fifty people in an extremely dangerous situation without me even having to think about what to do. My hands were guided by him. I'm sure you're thinking that I'm bullshitting, but I'm not. I would challenge anyone to try to do what I did in the situation I was in - you couldn't. Lots of other things have happened to me as a result of prayer which cannot be explained by saying "oh that's just coincidence".
What I want to say is of course I understand your position, but try to keep an open mind about things - I too used to laugh in peoples faces when "they started going on about religion", I thought it was for weak-minded people. I wouldn't dare think that now not after the things I have witnessed.

Sure I get that your own experiences have led you to a belief in god. I don't for a second question your sincerity. I am happy to talk about the existence of god and atheism (I prefer the term atheist to free thinker) but I would much prefer not to get into it right here.

What I object to is public voting on peoples basic rights. Some people will vote against gay marriage based on religious views that not everybody shares.

I'm not saying that you would do that, but that kind of thing does happen. I think there is a time and a place for a public vote on thing but with stuff like this I dont think its appropriate.

Again with the liqueur example. lets say we have a public vote on if buying liqueur on Sundays should be illegal. If enough religiously motivated people vote yes and it subsequently becomes illegal to buy liqueur on Sundays, then one of my freedoms has be taken away because of the religious imposing their morality on me via the law.

Of course that is a hypothetical but you get the idea. That kind of thing is what I object to. I believe the same thing applies to gay marriage.

Thanks for your reply and I see where you are coming from, but laws do govern peoples' basic rights whether we like it or not. Unfortunately, the majority wins and if that majority is influenced by religious beliefs then that's what will prevail. The government has to obey the wishes of the people or it is no longer a democracy. I think there are lots of dumb laws that prevent us from doing things that don't harm anyone.
