phobias of any kind are not considered "normal" and that's why they are treated by doctors. your friend should see a psychiatrist considering avoiding water in everyday life is extremely difficult
I wouldn't consider being scared of water normal, especially if it prevents him from washing himself. I think the fear of water is called aquaphobia and it can be a mental fear or a genuine physical one. I say that because you can actually be allergic to water. I know it sounds crazy but it's true, some people have reactions when exposed to water. Weird huh?
People who afraid of hydrophobia can shower so being afraid of something is no excuse to ignore your basic hygiene. There was a girl who was allergic to water and would get blisters from being in a shower for only 1 minute. But she still managed to take showers. So a phobia (phobias can be controlled) is no excuse.
i would understand if he was afraid of the ocean or even to drown in pools but just to shower ? idk...he should go to some kind of therapy
It's actually hydrophobia and he should get some help. It's an abnormal fear of water, also rabies is classified as hydrophobia. There is dry shampoo and stuff to get clean with out water. Look it up online and maybe you could help him out
It's not "normal" no but if he has a phobia then he needs to get some help to get past his fears........just don't judge
