Dating since 2001/2002. He moved into my house 2005. no ring on my finger. Says he needs to work on himself before he can think of a future/commitment. Why can't both happen at same time?!?

    Totally agree with Mando. You have every right to want a commitment. He is letting you know -- very obviously -- that he is putting his wants and needs completely ahead of yours. You wouldn't be posting this question if your relationship is perfect as it is. For a relationship to work, both participants need to have the same goals for the relationship, and it doesn't appear that you do.

    Its sad. Just think about it! How big of the part ur friends play " he should this and he shiuld that". Im sure if he didn't love u he wouldn't b with you. Do u guys have any kids? Just make sure u r he's beneficiary when it comes to everything. Just ib case God for bit.. lol

    I am in the same place your in.I have been with my boyfriend for 6 in a half years and he still hasn't asked me to marry him.If I were you I would leave.I know for sure i ain't going to wait that long.Give him an ultimatum.

    You are so naive to think that a "ring on your finger" will change your life. Either you're good with him or you're not, a ring won't make him love you forever, nor will it keep him from seeing other women...

    Hey wud u rather have him comit if he's not ready and not have a good relationship and end up divorced in about four years or have him wait? Idk know ur full situation thts just my take. Prolly didn't help but I enter to get my two cents in on this.
