Is it normal to be very pee shy?

So when I have to go, if there is anyone in the bathroom it is almost impossible. Even if my bladder feels like it's about to burst I still can't relax my muscles enough to go. I even try plugging my ears but does not help. Does anyone else do this? I'm worried because I know it's not good to hold and I've held hours before just waiting until I can get home and be comfortable. This is weird yes but am I alone and does anyone have any tips?

  • I'm the same way. However, I go anyways.
I just plug my ears. Remember, it's not abnormal to have to pee. Everyone does it.

Think about something that makes you relaxed and close your eyes when your trying to pee , soon you will get over it .

I used to be the same when I was younger, and so was my brother. I think it stems from insecurity or lack of confidence, as I no longer find it a problem. As far as I recall, there isnt really any solution. My advice would be, go into the bathroom, if theres people in the stalls, put some makeup on or something til they leave. Or try pulling tissue paper out into a stack in the bowl so that when you wee it doesnt make a sound. Randomjellys hand dryer advice sounds good.

Sit down and pee, actually works because you can see what is now behind you and your more comfy sitting down then standing up. People who say it's not manly are douchebags.

You are definitely not alone in this. I can't even take long trips because of this psychological problem, and I tend to be flaky. I understand it is completely normal to have to pee, but I just can't get it going when my body is that tense. The funny thing is that I can honestly care less if people see me urinating. The problem is just getting it going. Jail has been my biggest fear for this reason. And also, I tend to hold back from having a long term girlfriend. I've been able to go a few times in public restrooms, but only when I am really, really angry, almost to the point of nihilism. I honestly do not know how to remedy such a problem, but I've yet given up in seeking one. It's nice to know that someone else has a similar problem, even though it may not be as severe as mine. It's all about thought process.

I used to be the same way when I was younger. It sucks lol. Try running water or if you're in a public restroom try hitting the hand dryer (if they have one)..and then race to pee. Another thing you could try is to plug your ears...crazy I know but sometimes any little noise can make it impossible to go.

    When I was 21 I dated a 17yo, I felt like I was wrong. When I was 40 I dated a 18yo and loved her and felt fine. It's society that makes u feel bad. It's fine. I'd date a 16yo if I liked her I'm 43 now.
