Is it normal to be turned on by women that use big words?

I work with a woman that occasionally uses big words and seems very intelligent. Whenever she talks and uses a big word, I get turned on and feel a strong sense of attraction to her. Does anyone else have these feelings?

It must be pretty common. I suppose my vocabulary is above average. I personally don't think it's over-the-top and yet I get complimented on it to the point of people even calling it sexy.

Intelligence is definitely an attractive quality, especially in a long-term partner.
My girlfriend is the smartest girl I've ever known & I love it.
She can challenge me & make me think in ways that not many people can & I love that.
The other great thing is that while we're both intelligent we each have different strengths that happen to compliment each other very well.

    Anyway I personally wouldn't say it's a "turn on".
It alone doesn't make my dick hard or anything...

Intelligence does not factor into attraction for me.

Initially, if it's not appropriate in a situation, I would think it's just verbosity, which tends to annoy me. I think it is great when used on others though. What's the need to act professional with me?

Only unless I can't understand them. That's just disrespectful.

I find a certain level of intelligence and wit attractive, but just using 'big words' doesn't do it for me - the meaning of what someone says is more important to me than the length or obscurity of the words they use to say it.

    Nahmean?

I'm not sure if it's normal since I don't exactly imagine boners going crazy if I were to say "concupiscent" - more like confused faces.

But there's not really a problem. It just means that you are turned on by intelligent people.

    . . .

Though, personally, whenever people use unnecessarily complex words when it could have easily been explained in a simpler word, it kind of annoys me. It feels like they've just discovered the dictionary, flipped to a random page, and decided to use the biggest word they could find. Simplicity is best to get a point across - otherwise it's just irritating.

  • My god yes. My husband and I would absolutely invite Amy Mainzer into our bed.

She could just talk Astrophysics and stuff for foreplay :P
