Is it normal to be turned on by these gary numan lyrics...?

The song is Down In The Park by Gary Numan. It's a brilliant track made back in the late 1970's.
I've always found Gary attractive, especially his retro self (pre 1990's). But during some early live performances, when the song gets to "Oh look there's a rape machine" and "You wouldn't believe the things they do" I sometimes get shivers. It's the way he says it... And how he acts while saying it.

I have this with a few famous musicians but the fact it's Gary Numan back in 1979 with controversial lyrics... A little weirder than usual...
Anyways, is any of this normal? If not, any one had similar feelings for performers at odd times?
