Is it normal to be this way with my favourite friends?

It's been 2 years now that I've moved away from my friends. However I feel I hardly contact them. When I do contact them at the end of the month or so, I put on the impression that I'm really successful and enjoying life with my new friends. Sometimes I have quite little to say, even though we grew up together. I even hear from others of events or things they do without me and I'm beginning to care less and less. is it normal for this distance to be causing such a poor relationship or is it just me? Is it worth saving?

That's perfectly normal. It takes great effort to maintain friendship, and takes even more since you've moved away from them. If you can't set aside time to do things with your friend, then this friendship will begin to die. I've lost several friends because of it but strangely I don't feel much regret. You lose some old friends yet you gain many new friends. People are constantly changing, maybe you no longer share the same old interests with them. Who knows. Don't put too much thought into it.

I know I shouldn't dwell on it too much but this is a real sad reality. I guess I should just focus on my new friends.

Hey, when you move away from your friends, then the option is to make new friends. Hopefully, you will be able to do that in the future.
