Is it normal to be this concerned over acceptance?

Is it normal for a 20+ year old kid like myself to be stressing out over a secret that if the wrong people found out I could get sent to prison? Is it normal to feel like I'll never be fully accepted for who I am?

Yeah man, my friend stole a LOT of money at one point in my life, and pleaded for me to hide it for him. I did, and he told me we could split it between him and a few select others. But it was scary, it was enough we could've all been in prison, for a long, long time. I felt out of place while it was going on, and I was always concerned someone would know, so I didn't connect with anyone for quite a while.

That really depends on the secret. If you've done something really bad and/or intend to do something bad again, please go report yourself to authorities or take preventative measures.
