Is it normal to be the only person in your family to listen to rock ?

It's started when I was young when I first heard Three Days Grace: I Hate Everythig About You. From then on I was hooked on to it. It was like a drug once I found out there was more than one type of rock. I began listening to Paramore, Green Day, Fallout Boy, MCR, 3 Doors Down, BFMVT, and etc....but it's like my own family doesn't appreciate me listening to it when I'm in my car. My family mostly likes hip hop. Don't get me wrong I like hip hop, but it can be about the same thing in every song. Rock I exp. something new.

    I love Three days grace.
And yeah, my brother hates when I listen to it.

It's normal for people to have different tastes in music. Perhaps all of you should try branching out and listening to other genres.

In my family, my older siblings and I are the only ones that listen to rock. Everyone else likes pop.

Over 9000 people are the only ones listening to rock in their families.

There are about 3 of us in mine.

I'm surprised that your family only listens to two genres of music: rock and hip hop.
Only a tiny percentage of all recorded music will appeal to any one person. Music is also very culturally and socioeconomically dependent; rich upper East-siders don't usually like country music.

rich Upper East-siders, not just rich people in general.

you know, the rich of new hampshire and conneticut for example.

having money, or the lack of it, isn't going to change what kind of music you dig.

in other words, being rich isn't going to turn you away from country music.

Thats true, the money wont affect it, but considering the lifestyle of the typical new england Aristocrat, It doesnt seem like they would listen to country.

as far as the "big rich Texan", I would be surprised if they didnt listen to country.

I meant to point out the New England bit, not so much the rich.
