Is it normal to be terrified of dental appointments?

Every time I have to go to the dentist, even just for a checkup, I get really nervous. I have to have a wisdom tooth pulled soon and I'm really scared about it and don't know what to do. I'm freaking out!

There is good reason to be terrified. My brother (now age 30) had his wisdom teeth pulled when he was in high school. The dentist injected the numbing agent but accidentally caused a lingual nerve injury to my brother. We sued the asshole and got paid but my brother now must live forever with a half-numb tongue. He says it doesnt bother him too much but occasionally he bites his tongue and it bleeds (because he cant feel it). He wishes it wasnt like this. So make sure you have the best dentist !

Don't worry. I don't use any painkillers, so if you're lucky, you might pass out from the pain. I'll be looking forward to your visit.
