Is it normal to be terrified of "cain" from robocop 2?

obviously not when he is in his human form but when turned into Robocop 2... Is anyone else utterly terrified of this thing? especially the weird CG face and "voice". I couldn't even watch it with the sound on until I was 25!

Completely normal. The whole film, not just Cain, is really dark and kind of nutty. It was Hob that scared me, though. That was one weird kid.

That's true... I kinda like Hob though heh. This and the original Robocop are still my favorite movies ever even if Cain does still to this day strike terror into my heart.

They're both great films and I really like them. My favourite character is Clarence Boddicker. He's played so well.

Shame about RoboCop 3, though. :/

Oh god Robocop 3 does not exist in my mind lol. I think its hilarious to see Clarence Boddicker as the dad on "that 70's show" lol. It always looks like he's a second away from pulling out a gun and shooting everyone, lol.

The upcoming remake looks like its also on the fast track to becoming another Robocop 3 =(

lol, nor mine either. I did see it and was so horrified, I do often forget it exists.

I think the first two deserve more credit than they get. They're a lot cleverer than they look and they're absolutely dripping with satire. You've made me want to rewatch them both now. It's been a few years!

If its been a few years you probably did not see them in HD =) They both look awesome in 1080p =)
Especially considering they were both made in the late 80's. The effects were very ahead of their time. They originally could not make Robocop 2 because it "was not technically possible to produce the effects required" so after a massive rewrite they filmed the version we now see. The original script is amazing though, especially the Cain and ED-209 fight that was supposed to take place within the ending rampage of Cain. I would have loved to see that!
