Is it normal to be talking everyday with a guy?

I've been talking to a guy for two months now via emails, or texting. I do know him in real life, we met 2 years ago and we'd see each other on occasion around our other friends.

We've both pointed out that we don't talk this much or often with anyone else(we've always been very chatty with each other though). And we have tried to hang out but for reasons we've been unable to. I figured if we are meant to hang out we will eventually.

That's not what bothers me oddly enough. Is it considered normal to be talking to someone this often all the time?

I've had guys talk to me everyday like this but they eventually stopped when things didn't work out for us to hang out, or date. This guy however doesn't seem to mind that, and i can honestly say i think he really does enjoy talking with me.

And before you ask he is single, and he never mentions any girls or tries to set me up with anyone he knows.

Has this happened with anyone else? Should i just continue talking to him and see where it leads if anywhere?

    It has happened to me I still talk to him :)
    He tried to flirt with me for ages he saw nothing would happen and i was scared he'd stop talking to me but he didn't and now hes one of my best friends :)

    cuz best friends exist right :D
