Ladies, Say you have a long-term partner that has never displayed an interest or care in his breath or oral hygiene beyond basic brushing. Then all of a sudden one day he wants to buy an industrial size box of Altoids from Costco.

Ok, let me explain slowly, its not that no matter what, they are always cheating, its no matter what, they always get accused of cheating. I've been with the same girl almost 5 years now, in those 5 years I never did as much as hold another woman's hand, yet I get the question "who is she?" about twice a week.

While I dont want to be as "forthcoming" as MrMan10 was, I have to kinda agree with him.
I mean a reaction like this over breath mints?? If he says he is gonna call you at 8 pm and he doesnt get to it until 8:20 do figuratively rip his head off when he does call?
It's hardly a reaction, I didn't say anything to him, it's just so out of the ordinary by a lot that it struck me as odd, simply wanted opinions on it. It wasn't like I accused him of anything or whatnot, like I said it's just so fucking odd for him so I wondered if it was anything funny or not. I guess I saw it similar to if a guy all of a sudden is trimming his pubes and wearing silk boxers and cologne out of the blue. Hence, I asked for opinions.

Every now and then I will see a treat that I enjoyed in my childhood and think "Man, I miss these!" and buy it. Even if it is something mundane that I could have always bought.
Mint skittles were my favorite candy as a child. If I ever saw mint skittles again I guarantee you I'd buy the whole shelf and ask a sales associate if there is any left in the back. I miss them so badly.

I'm close to my partner alot and got self concious about my braeth randomly so I bought a bunch of gum to chew so I don't gross him out. I think it's not a bad thing lol Be greatful
maybe his other girlfriend told him to try those mints because she says they are nice.
My BF bought some Altoids b/c he got a promotion and they make him feel more professional. Successful people eat Altoids!
Also, when my boyfriend took up smoking, he never told me. When he eventually did reveal the secret, I was curious as to how he hid it so well. He said he used cologne to cover up smell, and mints or gum to cover up taste. Smoking habit is a possibility.
Probably saved a tonne of money by buying loads. That's usually how it works...
Maybe he's conducting an experiment to see if you notice his unusual buying habits, which you have and he's probably jumping for joy about.

I buy lots of mints too, I don't want bad breath and I don't like a dry mouth (when I can't drink).
He might just like them. Don't you ever buy something just because it would be nice to try or because you missed the taste? Maybe he is just enjoying the strong freshness.
