I live in the inner city and ppl assume i'm gay because I'm concious about what i wear and speak properly ( i don't curse ). I'm very friendly and really care about ppl feelings. Why is this such a problem? Is it normal for a straight guy to be this way?

Ppl are either born with or without empathy. You're the lucky one. It's a little hard to live in this world with a sift heart, though.
my partner is friends with a couple of straight guys who are extremely polite and dont swear and are very considerate but they are quite religious which isnt bad, just not my thing. they dont push religion on me which is fine. some people might take advantage of your good nature so just be aware.
Who cares? So they think you're gay. You're obviously hanging out with the wrong people if they decide you're gay based on everything OTHER than those with whom you choose to have sex. Or would you prefer to read "no, it's not normal. start spitting immediately. and stop flossing too. then they'll think you're a hetero." doesn't that just sound asinine?
I have exactly the same thing, don't worry. It's got stronger as I've got older, too.
