Is it normal to be still scared of clowns at 35?

My kids wanted clowns at their birthday party. I've always be scared of clowns. So as they got excited I nearly peed my pants and ran crying out of my kids party. Not only was it embarrasing, I had to explain to my 4 year old why mommy is scared of clowns. Not fun..

    The clowns can't be trusted.

Ok serious face now. Umm I've heard of fear of clowns but didn't think it existed beyond the movie screens so I'm going with abnormal but it's not debilitating so don't worry about it.
