Is it normal to be so unphotogenic?

So basically I'm not unattractive at all, I dress nicely, have cool hair and a nice, handsome face, and I get lots of girls, and lots of compliments - but I just look SO bad in every photo !
I can see myself looking good in the mirror, and then the second I look at myself through a camera lens I just look horrific /:
I appreciate that its not exactly normal, because everyone else looks good in photos, I just wondered if anyone else had the same problem /:

    Hell yeah me too hey, I hate being in photos, but love taking them :-)

    I knew two girls.

    One was pretty hot, but looked really bad in photos. I even have one where she looks like she has Downs Syndrome. Yeah. That bad.

    The other girl was fairly average, but just always looked absolutely stunning in photos.

    I think it's mostly the eyes and the smile.

    Yes! When I look at myself smiling in a photo, it looks like I don't have any eyes. My face seems to scrunch up too much. I have tried not smiling and I look angry or bored. I have given up on the good photo thing.

    We all feel that way. It's because in a mirror, our faces are actually reversed and this is how we're used to seeing ourselves. A camera does not reverse our features though so we look different or strange to ourselves. Try taking that same picture and using a picture program on your computer to reverse it...you'll think you look more normal.

    Yes, and it's so frustrating! I'm a girl and have the same prob. Making the photos black and white really works well though ( sometimes) I've also noticed that I look better in a photo if I don't get all subconscious and try hard to look good..

    I'm very unphotogenic as well. It's aggravating but nothing you can do about it

    man this is extremely normal im the exact same i have a fair share of girls complimenting me on my looks and coming on to me but in mostly every fucking pic i look difrent :|
