I have never met a girl that i connect with, my firends say im too picky cuz i wont go out with anyone unless they are into the same things as me. but the with the things im into im starting to think this girl might not exist and ill have to lower my standards. any advice?
Welcome to my world! But for real it sucks but yeah you may need to lower those standards. I'm not saying its time to go fuck some fatties or the crack whore down the street. Just widen your harisens a little bit.
Don't worry about lowering your standards so much as opening up a bit more. I'm saying this to help not be critical, so take what you want from it :) It's okay to be picky, in fact you should be picky. You want a special someone, not just anyone and that's very normal. What's important is to remember that having someone with different tastes and interests is what keeps us moving both mentally and emotionally. I'm very picky about the guys I date and though I know others think I'm too picky, I've found that I haven't had the negative relationships many of my friends have had. Because I expect to be treated like a lady and shown affection as well as treat my guy with respect and love in his preferred way, I have never had a truly bad relationship. My past loves have always been good, kind and indulgent to me. I must admit my current and past loves may have diffrent interests or outlooks than me (some many) but as long as they are respectful, attentive and kind --to me as well as others-- I accept these differences because it makes them who they are and also teaches me about unique aspects and opinons. Hope that helps. You are normal but life is about learning and if you are to learn, grow and find love, you have to be open to the new things a girl might bring so long as she sparks your interest and cares for you the way you want to be cared for.
