Is it normal to be so hungry?

I am so hungry and I haven't eaten in 4 days. I am basically starving because I don't want to eat shit food anymore like ramen noodles, etc. is it normal to be this hungry and refuse to eat crap? And ps I'm too poor to afford to eat anything except ramen noodles.

Eat something dude. If you don't like eating junk, go to Costco or a farmers market where you can get organic food.

  • You can get all the nutrients you need from water, sunlight and oxygen.

You need glucose to respire which is the body's way for releasing energy from ingested food/nutrients. Without this energy the body cannot do anything, including maintain itself.

You need amino acid from protein to make proteins such as homoeostatic hormones which regulate things like your temperature and blood sugar levels (getting the wrong balance is fatal).

You need vitamin C to help heal wounds, Potassium for bones and many other nutrients to survive. The idea that you can live off of water, sunlight and oxygen is completely ridiculous if you study even very basic human biology.

Eating Ramen is healthier than not eating at all. It'll at least help you maintain your metabolism. It's not like it's gonna kill you either. I ate Ramen Noodles for a good 10 years off and on. I've never been overweight and I've never been notably unhealthy. If you eat nothing you'll get very sick and die, if you eat Ramen you will not be hungry anymore and you'll have energy. You may intake a lot of sodium but that's almost unavoidable these days unless you make food from scratch.

As far as your health is concerned, eating ramen is better than starving yourself. Not that I can talk.

I'm so sorry to hear that you can't afford food. Perhaps you could steal apples from someone's garden? They probably won't miss them anyway. Whenever I can't afford a big, fancy meal, I eat oat-porridge (oat and water cooked together) which is VERY cheap and definitely healthier than noodles.

Sorry, I didn't complete that thought very well.

Most grocery stores near me have dry goods in bulk bins. You can buy things like pasta, flour, rice, beans, sugar, chocolate covered almonds...mmm. Things are purchased by weight, not per item. It is much cheaper this way. Not as cheap as ramen, but it is an economical way to purchase food that is actually healthy.
