Is it normal to be so conscious of who starts the conversation?

I'm sorry if this has been asked a million times before, but I always wonder if I seem too desperate if I start the conversation with the guy I like too often. Was just wondering, is it normal to think that people even pay attention to who starts the convo? Will a guy care if I start the conversation too often? (because he is too "cool" to take notice of me anyway, let alone start a conversation).

      Anyhow on topic, yes I'm pretty sure that's normal. Anyway I act like that as well not because I think I'm cool...I just prefer to stay the hell away from girls.

    I don't think guys mind when girls start the conversation. Personally I like it when a girl starts a conversation because, to me, she's portraying confidence. Besides, not many girls I know prefer starting conversations, especially with me.
