Is it normal to be snubbed because of my job?

I had recently met someone and we were getting along really well. We were talking when he asked me what I did for a living. He said he was a lecturer in a well known university. Then I told him that I worked as a florist. I explained that even though it wasn't an important job it was a job I loved. He went a little quiet after that, then we said goodbye and hung up. Since then I haven't heard from him and I feel like crap. Its obvious why he hasn't been in touch because everything was ok before the job thing came up. I love my job but it isn't my identity. I know that he's shallow and up his own arse but I feel humiliated even though I did nothing wrong.

You should show up at all his lectures looking psychotic and holding ridiculous looking bouquets of flowers. Sit in the front row and make sure he sees you.

I wouldn't worry about it. So what if some educator thinks that being a florist is beneath him. Better to learn that now.

Sounds like a lecturer. And they are dickheads

don't waste your time on him

however maybe he found someone else? and it's nothing to do with your profession.

What a jerk :/ Being a florist sounds pretty neat, in my opinion. I never once considered it being at the bottom of the barrel when it came to jobs.

Sounds like he was turned off by your explaining "that even though it wasn't an important job it was a job I loved." That statements makes me think you feel your job is inferior to his. You are implying he doesn't like his job and is only has it be important.

He sounds like a cunt -

I would possibly organize a revenge bashing / kneecapping : LSD overdose torture for him.

I would sincerely consider these options due to his behavior

You don't need a liberal or so-called progressive elitist anyway. He would be a real snore. He would be for abortions, homo unions, and other liberal stuff. Say good riddance.
