It feels as if all of the people I knew back in high school who considered themselves "artists" drew EVERYTHING anime-style...almost as if they were entirely incapable of letting their pencils do anything else.
Well the style is of anime is very beautiful. It's drawn in a much more elegant way. Also, I've noticed that many people at my school who call themselves artist are into anime.
There is good anime, and there is not so good anime, just like anything.
Children in high school are not aware of anything but what interests them. Why do you care so much? let it go, man...
Everything has their good and awful tiers; the problem with the anime style is that everyone thinks It's easy to do it just because it's popular, but It's just a style, and it won't make you a better or talented artist; no matter how good or popular the style is, without effort and dedication you can't advance.
Personally, I think that having a own style is a huge step to become a good artist; a good example it's the studio ghibli style: you can say it's an anime style,but it has it's own style that make it different than any other style.
I know what you mean, I personally don't like the Anime style at all. It's boring, the anatomy is wrong, and it's all exactly the same. :|
hmm when I read naruto I think that the drawings are anatomicly right especialy the hands I hate how some anime hands are just so appalling! too big to small. Oh, deathnote is also one of the mangas that is anatomicly correct so dont judge all manga there are some out there that are just amaazing with there art. I admire how they draw the people and hands correctly.
Oh, yes, completely normal. It's so annoying that nearly everyone draws manga and anime. There are virtually no talented artists in my high school.
It's annoying, but I do it sometimes. It's just something that I like to doodle with, because it's simple, but it looks nice :)
However, I focus on(in my opinion) much nicer forms of art for actual projects.
Who cares what they want to draw? I dont mind anime, I think its pretty funny looking. (I guess its supposed to be, cause it makes fun of disney) the only "artists" i dont care for are the ones who either cant draw, and act lik theyre the best at it, but are terrible, or those who think they are better than others just because they can draw.

Anime sucks. It's such a generic style that it isn't any kind of art. My Chinese wife tells me that she and everyone in China could do this drawing when they were kids. I teach art and design, and I disagree with all the liberals that say things like "art is in the eye of the beholder". It's not. Thats just the excuse crappy artist give to justify their work.
Anime sucks but hentai is fun in small doses. Same style, just naked.
Artists have different style and we have to respect that...There are artists who only love painting or sketching, same as doing anime-style. It is in their interest and if you are annoyed because of that whole anime thing, just leave it to them. It's not your best interest, so why bother?
What do you mean 'anime style'? Anime drawing styles range from the amazingly lifelike to the absurd. If you're talking about the stereotypical big eyed, wild haired, exaggerated expression stuff, just know there are other styles that may be less annoying to you.
Anime style is good and all, but some people really should try to get out of their comfort zones sometimes and try realistic drawings or sculpting. I draw lots of anime because it is so easy to draw, but I also like to experiment with other styles of art.
Yeah, I see where your coming from although I adore Anime and most of it is very realisticly drawn although I am slightly annoyed by "Chibi" styles or sometimes: Super Deformed Characters.
It takes practice to draw any style of drawing, even the anime style. I think the style is kinda cute actually.
I have noticed that many that are good at drawing always say their drawings are ugly...
As your skills raise, your standards raise.
Also, we might be having a bit of modesty.
It annoys the fuck out of me when artists that are, honestly terrible rush up to me and go "AHH!!! ISN'T THIS BEAUTIFUL WORK OF ART AMAZING!???" when it's just badly drawn anime.
I draw in anime style sometimes, and sometimes semi-realistic anime style.
