Is it normal to be sickened by someone's physical body.

Is it normal for me to be sickened by my room mates physical appearance. I never thought I would feel this way since all ways being the guy that was constantly the butt end of jokes because Of how tall i am. But this year my dormmate just totally freaks me out, and I know it's not his fault. He had/ or have acromegaly, I think he's getting treated for it. But he looks very cave Neatherthal. About 6th I guess. exaggerated facial feature, and grotesquely enlarged hands, feet and knees. Just totally freaks me out.
I don't think I ever met anyone with a size 19EEEEE foot and his height . Then on top of it his voice a very gruff. I know he dosnts have many friends around campus, and I know he gets teased, but I don't think I can spend a year being this freaked out by just being around him! I getting ready to request a room change. Am I tottally wrong for feeling this way?

It's normal, but you should respect everyone's appearance.

Jesus Christ. You're in college. You've got to grow up and get out of your small town. In your life you're going to see tons of different people with all sorts of problems. Get used to it.

Just an up date I spent the week trying to get to know my room mate like you guys suggested. Actually talked abit about how I was weirder out, and still.
It's still. Very akward. I found that I nerve him up also because I inadvertently stare. Going to give it a few more weeks

Awww, the poor guy. Don't make him feel bad!!!! Or any worse than he already does. If he was morbidly obese with fat flaps and smelly skin folds then it would likely be his fault and I'd say feel free to be disgusted in that case. But he can't help it. Be nice :)

as an initial reaction it's understandable, but how do you think it makes him feel that people keep avoiding him or making fun of him? How about trying to get to know him better? I usually find the better I get to know people the less I notice their appearance. Remember everyone is just one accident or severe illness away from being disfigured.
