Is it normal to be shy to ask my friends to go on a gathering?

I won't give any specific details, but basically, I'm a teen, I have quite a few friends but I'm not the popular one in the group and sometimes feel excluded. I want to feel included, and I don't go out with my friends too much. But I'm scared they won't accept me if I ask them to, or it will be weird, and generally, I'm not sure what to do here. I want to be more integrated within my friend group, sorta more popular, but I'm not sure how.

It happens man, just do you. You'll find that group who YOU are the main part.

But even then, take the initiative. Teens can sense and tell confidence. Go ahead and ask, it could turn out well

For starters, never call hanging out with friends a "gathering".

Hahaha, true, I just didn't know what to call it (I don't talk with them in English, so that doesn't affect it).

I have that problem too. When I’m going to ask, i think if they say no, or laugh. It’s so bad but it’s normal in my opinion. Everybody don’t have to good at everything.
