Is it normal to be serioulsy attracted to someone you barely know?

I'm not talking just simply being attracted to a stranger. I've known this girl for three years, and I guess you could say we're friends but I barely know her really and have barely ever talked to her. Yet as long as I've known her I've been incredibly attracted to her, not only physically but I just really like her as a person. But I barely know her! Is this normal?

    I think it's physical attraction. She might remind you of someone you used to know who you just don't remember, in school or something, or it could be that you find her attractive on a physical level and as a result have projected onto the personality you wish her to have. You're idealizing her from afar.

    I had a friend who "stalked" a girl like that for years. Went to school with her but never spoke to her. She smiled at him once and from that point on, he made her exactly what he wanted her to be in his mind.

    yeah, its normal

    I am in a steady relationship for years now but I am extremly attracted to an ex-coworker and really miss the opportunity I might have had. However, if you ask me what she likes or who she truly is, I couldn't tell you.

    Odd thing is is that to almost everyone else, shes extremely ugly.
